Whew! I had no idea I wouldn't have time to write this summer! We were so busy farming, but we did it; we are done! I finally have time to write, and I have so many things to share: funny stories, recipes, and so many pictures!
Today, since I’ve been absent for so long, I am simply going to ask you to thank a farmer. Any farmer because, in one way or another, you use something in your everyday life that his or her blood, sweat, and tears went into making.
Sleepless nights praying it doesn’t rain on your hay, hauling hay out of the field that you baled at 2 or 3 in the morning 24 hours ago so it doesn't get rained on or to get it out of the field so you can get water back on to do it all over again. Make sure side rolls and pivots are on, and all the sprinklers are working, repairing any equipment that breaks along the way, and it will. Make sure to maintain all your equipment properly.
Teach your babies how to work even when they are tired and don’t love what they are doing while maintaining healthy relationships with your partner, kids, family, and friends. I’m pretty sure all mine think I fell off the face of the earth! Also, the usual cooking and cleaning—trust me when I say there is a lot of that. Thank a farmer.
We are extremely blessed to serve, but we are also very tired! Lol! Thank you for your time! Until next time, enjoy the view from my office.
